Man Morning!

So this morning we were invited to a special baby blessing. My best friend from home, Jet, had a baby boy (Eli) less than two weeks after we had Jayden and they asked if we would come, which we were honored to do so. The only problem is that this morning when we woke up Stephanie was not feeling well, a feeling that has so far persisted. That could only mean one thing: it was gonna be a "Man Morning."

To ease the burden on mommy, Jayden asked to go with daddy to the blessing, where he knew everyone wanted to meet him. Mommy was very happy to be able to rest and not worry about Jayden so she agreed. Jayden and daddy got all dressed up (see above right) and as we headed for the church we sang some songs (daddy sang bass, Jayden sang tenor).

After only being there for 15 minutes we already had a blast...literally. As in Jayden blasted right out of his pants for I believe the first time ever (here's hoping it's the last but knowing it's not). You'll notice in the picture that he's about to get changed, due to said explosion inside and outside of his pants and on the carseat. It was a defining moment as this was my first time changing a diaper outside the home and I was flying solo. Thankfully there was a changing table in the men's room and we were able to get all clean and in some new clothes. At least people got to see him in this one before it happened.

The blessing was beautiful and it was an honor to be a part of
the circle. After the blessing, Jayden began to get hungry but he was very patient as daddy chatted with old friends. Finally it got to be too much though when daddy started eating a cinnamon roll (it really was unfair of me to eat in front of him). So we returned home, where we got Jayden going on a bottle while mommy continued to rest. Daddy and Jayden then enjoyed a soccer match (it really looked like he was watching), tried to get Jayden to smile at daddy (I took a video coaxing him to smile, and of course he kind of does when I turn off the camera), and finally took a nap. I think it's safe to say that "Man Morning" was a success. Mischief managed.

One last picture: Jet and I with our boys.
